Tricia Callahan, OARS’ Director of Proposal Development, was recently appointed to serve as a traveling faculty member for the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA).
As a member of NCURA’s traveling faculty, Callahan will teach two to three sessions of the organization’s workshop, Level I: Fundamentals of Sponsored Project Administration, annually for each of the next three years.
According to Callahan, NCURA has been advancing the field of research administration through education and professional development programs for over 50 years. In addition to the workshop on the fundamentals of sponsored program administration, NCURA also offers training on financial and departmental research administration.
Callahan has been an active member of NCURA for the past 15 years. She has held several leadership positions within her local region and served as co-chair of the 2014 Pre-Award Research Administration conference in San Francisco.
“I’m honored to join my NCURA colleagues as a presenter,” Callahan says, “and I’m delighted to give back to the administration community in this way.”
Callahan also gratefully acknowledges the support of Jim Oris, Associate Provost for Research & Scholarship, who she says “recognizes the importance of professional development and who understands the national recognition this appointment will bring to Miami University.”
